Two well appointed holiday cottages in the heart of Nidderdale
Covill Cottages offer well-appointed dog friendly holiday accommodation in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, set within the Nidderdale National Landscape and overlooking Gouthwaite Reservoir. Peacefully located and surrounded by open countryside, the cottages provide an ideal base for walking, cycling and exploring this beautiful part of Yorkshire.
Many of the region’s most well-known attractions are within easy reach, with Wharfedale to the south and Wensleydale to the north. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey is a short drive away, while the charming market town of Pateley Bridge — just five miles away — offers a great selection of independent shops, pubs and cafés.
Lakeview Cottage and Dalesview Cottage are set on the site of a former working farm and have been thoughtfully converted into comfortable, well-appointed holiday accommodation. Each cottage sleeps up to four guests, with a king-size double bedroom and a twin bedroom. For larger groups, both cottages can be booked together to accommodate up to eight guests.
Both cottages benefit from private parking and enclosed gardens. Covill Cottages also welcome guests travelling with dogs, allowing up to three dogs per cottage, with additional dogs considered on request.
Choose one of our pair of charming well equipped self contained holiday cottages set in the heart of the beautiful scenery of Nidderdale National Landscape.
The perfect place to wake up and take in your surroundings. No finer place to return to and relax in the evening. In summer you can enjoy an alfresco dinner in the private garden or a drink by the side of the stream. In winter you can snuggle up in front of the log fire.
We bought Covill Cottages in 2022 and after decorating and furnishing them accepted our first guests in September 2022.
Kirsty and Luke live in Ramsgill very close to the cottages. Thelma and Bob live a little further down the dale in Summerbridge. Collectively we have lived and worked in Nidderdale for over a hundred years. We feel very privileged to live in some of the most beautiful countryside in North Yorkshire in an area with such a strong community.
We have thrown our hearts and souls into making the cottages a warm comfortable and cozy space for our guests to enjoy. We take great pride in the many guests who have come back on repeat visits and the very positive feedback received.
Kirsty has spent her working life in Nidderdale in hospitality. For over 20 years she has been the House Manager for The Yorke Arms in Ramsgill which was until recently a highly acclaimed restaurant with rooms. With her attention to detail and artistic eye she has been responsible for making the cottages so attractive and charming. She is responsible for all the cleaning and preparation for the guest arrivals.
Luke works on a local country estate in conservation and land management. He looks after everything outside the cottages
Bob is a retired local GP and looks after all the administration, bookings and website.
Thelma is a retired optician and lends a helping hand with changeovers and more.
During your stay we are here for you if you require any help.

We had a fantastic time on our stay at the cottage to extend my 50th birthday celebrations. It had everything we needed and wanted. I’m very familiar with the area anyway so this excellent place to stay was the cherry on the top ! Thank you.

Lovely home just a short drive from Pateley Bridge. Booking and check-in were very straightforward and clear. The house is well-appointed with everything you need plus some very thoughtful extras thrown in for both human and canine guests :) I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Nidderdale area, and would surely book again. 10/10.

Had a lovely stay at Dalesview with my dog Lottie. The cottage was Cosy and Kirsty had thought about everything that you may need when staying, so next time I will leave my ‘kitchen sink’ at home!
Lovely views of the Dales and we had some good trips out including Brigham rocks, coldview beck, Frewstone and Scar house resivors. Pately bridge is worth a visit for the hot chocolate shop alone, had a lovely meal at the Royal Oak. Will stay again.

A wonderful break...we stayed with our dogs and our friends stayed with theirs next door. The cottage has everything we needed...thank you. Immaculately clean and tidy...the soft furnishings are beautiful and it's all very nicely designed. The views are beautiful and despite the weather we had such a nice time. A lovely walk from the door to Wath. Very excited and happy spaniels. And humans!!

This is a compact cottage, in a lovely quiet spot, right in the Nidderdale Way. It is comfortable, and the attention to detail throughout is outstanding. Highly recommended.

We have had a really relaxing stay thanks to you thinking of everything we might need... Your cottage is a home from home. The welcome gifts were a lovely surprise for both us and the dogs!! This is the first time anyone has ever provided towels for them 😅
Although we experienced mixed weather, we loved being able to walk from the door onto the Nidderdale Way. The setting is stunning.
Being able to come back to a warm, clean, cosy cottage after a wet walk is the best feeling.
Thank you again for thinking of everything! ☺️

What a treat! A fantastic place to stay; everything you need is provided. The cottage is very clean. And the view is simply amazing! The perfect base for exploring the Dales. Kirsty has put together a map with lovely walks and tips for things to see. Thanks, Kirsty, for the 'goodies'!

Absolutely fabulous cozy little cottage. Location is great for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
Kirsty is a wonderful host. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. We’re very grateful.
The view in front of the cottage is absolutely breathtaking. We’ve enjoyed seating outside, watching the sunset. With a proper pint of English Ale, this makes perfect holiday experience.
The cottage is so very clean. You can literally operate on its floors. The fireplace is fantastic. The kitchen is well equipped.
We’ll definitely return. It was so good, we didn’t want to leave.
